The Kiwanis Club of Barrie

The Kiwanis Club of Barrie has been a leader in our Maternal Neonatal Tetanus global initiative. The club has donated in excess of $2,480 per member. They received special recognition from Kiwanis International for their care and concern for those less fortunate.

The Meridian Centre

The Kiwanis Club of Barrie has committed $175,000 to the new Downtown Meridian Centre. The Club Members have agreed to provide funding for:
The Nine Mile Heritage Tier - which pays tribute to History of Barrie with an actual heritage map embedded in of the walkway of the centre to preserve Barrie's History and Heritage.

The Kiwanis name will appear as well in embedded portion of the Heritage Map and on both walls. This initiative puts Kiwanis at the heart of the City of Barrie.

The Kiwanis Club of Barrie will have the ability once per year to have full use of the complete facility to hold whatever one day event they wish.

Downtown Gazebo

The Kiwanis Club of Barrie stepped up to save the Gazebo in the Sam Cancillia Park which was being torn down by the City of Barrie due to the lack of funding to fix the needed repairs.

Residents were quite upset that the Gazebo with an 85 plus years of History in the City of Barrie was being demolished.

The Club worked out an agreement with the City to provide the $25,000.00 in funding to repair and save the Gazebo.

The name that will appear of the Gazebo will be "Sponsored By: The Barrie Kiwanis Club" with the New Kiwanis Logo.

The Kiwanis Club of Barrie in partnership with Georgian GMC Motors purchased a much needed Van for the Barrie Food Bank. Along with this, the Kiwanis Club of Barrie purchased and installed a New Furnace in their warehouse area where all of the food is stored and sorting takes place. Further, the Kiwanis Club of Barrie has agreed to a 3 year Christmas Turkey Program providing each Family with a Turkey for Christmas.

The total investment with the Barrie Food Bank is over $40,000.

The Kiwanis Club of Barrie is a model club in more ways than one!
