The Final Builder for 2013

For our last meeting in 2013, there were 20 members present for our poetry luncheon at Stonetree. President Gord Harris brought his wife Elizabeth as his luncheon guest. PP John Prettie led the group in a rousing rendition of Deck the Halls. K Reg Martin read the Objects of Kiwanis. PP Don Sweatman was our lucky draw winner and thus our fines collector. Our Mystery Greeter K Rebecca Mills noted that all Kiwanians were very social, shaking her hand.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Hillcrest, Timothy Christian, Keppel, Dufferin, Bayview and Alexandra Schools all received their recognition and thanks from our club.

PP Kevin Dandeno, his daughter Katie Lynn and K Phil Gignac performing at the Christmas Fund Broadcast.

They helped raise money for those in need. Well done!

Super Bowl tickets are available at K Paul Kirk's business, Microage on the top of 6th street hill. Check out our Super Bowl information page on our website. Send a link to your friends. The February 2nd kickoff is right around the corner.

If you are interested in becoming our club secretary which involves correspondence, month end reports etc., please contact President Gord. A media person to keep us connected on social media, press releases to radio, tv, newspaper is needed as well.

We are pleased to announce that our Christmas Trees sold out this year! Congratulations to Kiwanian Jim McManaman and all of his K crew for their diligent efforts to spruce up our coffers.

Poet's Corner!

K Jim McManaman poem to K Joanne Horton involved him setting some questionable rhymes to Rudolph the Red Reindeer. PP Don Sweatman had some eloquent words for our musical PP Kevin Dandeno. K Bert Loopstra regaled us with his thoughts about K Debbie McKague.

K Rebecca did not let K Jim's singing deter her in her lyrics for DP Eric Crose. PP Elwood did double duty in reading his poems to PP Andrew Drury and P Gord. DS Julia Levine toasted PP Elwood's heart and service to Kiwanis.

K Phil Gignac waxed poetic about K Susan Davey. K Marion Koepke tallied up her thoughts about Treasurer Paul Kirk. K Russ Pierson created a splendid tribute to PP John Prettie.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy 2014!
