We participated in Bowl for Kids Sake at Orillia Bowl on Monday April 9th where we had Kiwanians bowl and fundraise money for Big Brother’s Big Sister’s of the Orillia District. We presented them with a check for

Kiwanis T-Ball began the first week of May and continued for six weeks.
On Tuesday May 15th Kiwanis club members of Orillia and other community members such as Orillia Power, the police and paramedics helped serve dinner at East Side Mario’s in Orillia, where 10% of all proceeds plus additional tips and donations collected were 100% donated to the KCSV.
We had our second annual Hoedown to fundraise for the Kiwanis Children’s Safety Village. We had local food from Shine Juice bar and Café, Thai Plate and Friend’s Diner catered. We had a silent auction which included donations from all over the community as well as Kicx 106 and our very own Steve and Marni Van Kessel play live. It was fantastic!
We donated $15,00.00 for the next 2 years ($7,500/year) for the Child Advocacy Center which was also broadcasted in the Orillia Matters.
We sponsored Patrick Fogarty students to go on a mission trip to Ecuador where they helped build a cafeteria for a community to ensure students in the Los Rios community will both attend school, be fed and can return home nourished and with clean water for their families.
We have our corporate sponsorship for the Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital where we sponsor the Pediatrics floor at the hospital in which was formally known as “Soldier’s 2”.
The Kiwanis Terrific Kids program had another very successful year serving all the schools in our clubs district. High School Scholarships were awarded to three local high schools inside Orillia for $500.00 each to a total of $1,500.
We funded to have 35 Books written by Lee Bice- Matheson to be given away on January 27th to Orillia’s Youth Center.

Michael Koza joined us in late December 2017 and was inducted in January this year. He works with RBC (Royal Bank of Canada)
Stephanie Hunter has joined us this year in February. Stephanie works at BMO (The Bank of Montréal)
Kevin Healy joined us at the end of April this year. He works for Elite Fire
We have gained a corporate membership from OSMH with Mark Riczu and Nicole Kraftscik.
