The Builder for March 5th, 2015
There were 30 Kiwanians and four guests in attendance at our luncheon meeting held at Stonetree Golf and Fitness Club. We were pleased to welcome Mayor Ian Boddy, Community Services Director Pam Coulter, Whispering Pines Manager Greg Rogers and PP Bob's wife Ann Miller. They were greeted by K Susan Davey and K Paul Matthies.
PP John Prettie chose the song to sing and K Sean McMurray read The Objects of Kiwanis. K Gabe Nowak was the lucky winner of our draw while DP Bob Miller led the auction of two Attack tickets won by PP Peter Little.
K Jim McManaman and City Councillor introduced Mayor Boddy and Pam Coulter.
Mayor Ian Boddy spoke to us about a vision for the City. He said they are working on a Strategic Plan and Assessment Management. After that, they will work on Service Analysis. The Mayor is looking for feedback from the community that can help them with that Strategic Plan.
Kiwanians received questionnaires to share their ideas for the city.
Pam Coulter came to thank us for our latest collaboration in partnership with the City in the creation of the Kiwanis SK8 and Bike Park. She showed us a video of many children actively using the SK8 Board Park. It was great to hear so many children thanking Kiwanis for making this project possible. PLG Gail Norris thanked our speakers.

K Jim McManaman revealed the final tally of 2014 Christmas tree sales as $7,305 which is up from last year.

PP Kevin Dandeno, Music Festival Chair said each year the city owned piano has to be moved and the committee is looking for innovative ways to cut the cost down. Pre-registration is going well. If any Kiwanian would like to sit on the committee, participation will be very welcome.
Debbie McKague announced that as a major sponsor of the Kiwanis Music Festival we are encouraging everyone to attend the Gala Concert at the Roxy Theatre on April 30th at 7:30. For a ticket cost of $15.00 you will be highly entertained at this Kiwanis social gathering.
K Susan Davey reported that Builder's Club had a Valentine's Day draw that was quite successful.
K Stew Andrew has agreed to be the chairperson for the membership committee. Stew asked for new ideas regarding growth and also how to retain members. He suggests if committee or event co-ordinator want to get members out to please contact to phone members who did not fill out the Doodle.
