K Susan Davey!

The Builder May 19th

Nineteen Kiwanians and one guest attended our luncheon meeting at Stone Tree Golf anad Country Club. K Ted Horton brought Bob Harvey as his guest.

Four students from the Builder's Club were in attendance representing the 25 members of their club. They hold many events during the year including a PJ Party, Hot Chocolate Café and of course, the wonderful clowns in our Santa Claus Parade. President Bob Miller thanked them for coming and each student and their teacher got a Kiwanis gift.

They were joined today by Kiwanian Susan Davey, our Chairperson for the Builder's Club. It was great to see K Susan was back with us. We wish her a speedy recovery!

A Fine Time!

IPG Gary Levine and K Bert Loopstra were our Tardy Twosome.

PP Andy Drury and Cathy returned from a trip through Eastern Ontario with many stops at towns and cities along the way. K Gord Harris participated in the Friday the 13th bike ride to Port Dover. They had only good luck on that auspicious date.

K Kerry Lee journeyed to Provence, France pour un grand voyage. Oh, la, la...K Joanne Horton went to Collingwood while K Bert Loopstra went to Florida with Willie.

K Sean McMurray cheered for the Attack in Mississauga. Having a Kiwanian there must have turned the tide. Go Attack! Go!

Happy Loonie Days!

A happy toonie was collected from everyone in recognition of Past Everything PLG Al Kelly as Citizen of the Year and to K Ted Horton for his marketing skills. K Ted received the Godfrey Dyer Marketing Award for initiating our member's information brochure and for instituting our new member's incentives.

PLG Al Kelly is pictured with Kiwanis International Trustee Jerry Peuler, Past Governor Gary Levine and Julia, with his wife Honorary Kiwanian Ann Kelly. PLG Al and Ann had their children and grandchildren attending the Opening Ceremonies to share in the celebrations.

Congratulations to our Eastern Canada and Caribbean

Citizen of the Year Award Winner - PLG Al Kelly!

Congratulations goes out as well to DPP Gail Norris for chairing a great convention. Thank you to all of those in our club who pitched in to volunteer during last week's festivities. To see pictures of those attending our event go to our GALLERY.

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

DPP Gail Norris introduced Acting Chief and Kiwanian Bill Sornberger while K Rebecca Mills thanks him.

K Bill gave us a summary of his past police services and then spoke about some of the current issues in Owen Sound. K Bill thanked our Club for the donation of children's bike helmets for their Bicycle Safety Program. That prompted President Bob to announce that KKO (Kiwanis Kids Outreach) has donated another 50 helmets to be handed out to children during school visits.
