The Builder for November 3

At Thursday's luncheon meeting, there were twenty-three Kiwanians present along with four guests. Kiwanian Bert Loopstra was the lucky winner of the 50/50 draw. Our special guest speaker was Bob Durrant from Bayshore Broadcasting.

Speaker’s Corner!

Bob Durrant is the enthusiastic morning voice that wakes you up on CFOS every weekday. It was our pleasure to hear his insights about radio today and how it has changed. He noted that talk radio has seen a steady decline while music leads the way. The industry owes a great deal to country music as that is the bread and butter sound for our area. He's "On the Road Again" every morning to make that "Crazy" drive to Owen Sound where we "Stand by Our Man" Bob by tuning in each day. Thanks Bob for your continued support of our club!

A Fine Time!

Past President Bruce Price confessed to a number of trips. Welcome back PP Bruce, our trivia winner today and thank you for your self-imposed fine of $100.00. It is fitting the Prime Minister Robert Borden bill was donated as he was the fearless Canadian Prime Minister who signed the declaration to send Canadian troops to serve in World War I.

Kiwanian Marion Koepke was attending her first official lunch since her induction. She was there with her apron ready for members to sign. She confessed to a Mexican holiday and had to part with a peso or two.

The President's Corner!

President Linda Van Aalst is excited to announce that on November 24th in place of our luncheon meeting, we will have a cocktail party reception at the Inn on the Bay from 5-7 p.m.. This will be a stand up social time with wonderful appetizers, a cash bar and raffle items. We are so pleased that International Trustee, Dr. John Button will be joining us for our ELIMINATE Kick-Off Event.

Our cocktail party is a ticketed event ($20.00) with the hope that we will be able to raise some funds to kickstart our International Project.

Silent Auction/Raffle items have already been donated by Kiwanian James Culligan, LGE Gail Norris, K Stew Andrew, PG Gary Levine and Secretary Julia Levine. Aly Boltman from the Roxy is donating theatre tickets and past Kiwanian Bob Nichol has made a donation as well. Honorary Kiwanian Ann Kelly is making a mouthwatering pie for auction. If you have something special you wish to donate to our prize table, please let President Linda know.

Please let know you want ticket(s) held.
