The Builder for
December 18th

There were twenty-six Kiwanians and guests at our final meeting of this 2014 year. It provided an opportunity for members to socialize and share a few laughs. Please take a look at our website photo gallery to view some pics from our evening.

PLG Gail Norris brought Dr. Ken Loucks to our meeting. P Bob Miller was pleased to be joined by his wife Ann. Builder Advisor Susan Davey was accompagnied by her husband John. Returning Kiwanian James Culligan was happy to entertain his partner in the Arts, Eleanor Pauling. PP Andy Drury introduced his friend Karen Conley while PLG Linda Van Aalst's husband Kees attended along with Kiwanian Ted Horton's wife Candy.

Our stalwart door greeters were K Paul Strimas and K Susan. Kiwanian Stew Andrew read the invocation while K James read the Object of Kiwanis. DP Bob Miller was the lucky number winner of the Kiwanis bear with the proceeds towards our Eliminate pledge.

Kiwanians regaled each other with their literary talents in our yearly poetry tributes to one another. It should be noted that neither rhyme nor meter stood in the way of these creations....

A whole lot of hugging going on...

From the President's Pen!

First of all, I would like to wish my fellow Kiwanian friends and their families a happy and safe holiday season. It's a busy time of year and we all have plenty to be grateful for.

2014 was a very productive year for our club and I would like to extend my many thanks to our invaluable committee chairs and their members. The time and energy you all gave enables our club to fulfil it's mandate of making "Young Children Priority One."

This year saw the successful launching of the Kiwanis Sk8 & Bike Park and the continuation of our pledge to support our global Eliminate Project.

I look forward to the start of the New Year and all that 2015 will bring.

As you all know we will be celebrating three milestones this year; the 90th anniversary of our club with our anniversary dinner on May 9th at the Inn on the Bay, the 70th anniversary of our Santa Claus Parade and the 100th year of Kiwanis world wide with our convention in June in Indianapolis. There will be more exciting projects to come as we continue to build upon our community partnerships.

I would like to thank the board members for their support and I am looking forward to making sound decisions along with them for the 2015 season.

Finally, our first meeting is on January 15th at noon at Stonetree. Paul Barlett is going to bring along his service dog and share their wonderful experiences.

On January 29th, please join together in officially welcoming our newest Kiwanian Don King to our club along with....stay tuned....What a great way to start the New Year!
