The Builder for December 6th

President Michelle Kobryn welcomed twenty-eight Kiwanians to our luncheon held at the Inn on the Bay. Our door greeters were K Mike Rutherford and K Penny Garvin.

PP Peter Little led the Builder Song, O Canada and the Invocation. K Bob was the Mystery Greeter while K Tim Brown was the lucky number winner.

The Kiwanis Kitchen Grilling!

Kiwanians received a detailed information package from Food Committee Chair Michelle outlining activities of our Kiwanis Kitchen during the past five years. PP Paul Strimas explained new trailer rules and P Michelle spoke about the need for a certified food handler. There was a discussion about the difficulty in getting volunteers to work the trailer and also the promotional nature of attending events.

A motion was passed to investigate the possible sale of the trailer. Any offer to purchase will come back to the club for another vote.

Birthday in a Bag Project

Our club has taken on a new project to help children in our area.

Our Board of Directors approved a new program at the last Board meeting in conjunction with our local Salvation Army Food Bank.

For many families, meeting basic needs is a great challenge. Add to that, having a child with a birthday puts extra pressure on them.

We are sponsoring a Birthday in a Bag for children 12 and under. Each colourful birthday bag contains a birthday card, serviettes, candles, balloons, cake mix and icing.

Thank you to fellow K Alice Wannan for helping facilitate our newest project.

Hats Off!
