Santa Claus is Coming to Town!
The Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound is excited to announce the return of the Owen Sound Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, November 18th. This year’s theme is “A Winter Wonderland!”.
This will be the 78th consecutive year of the Club’s commitment to making the community a better place for children (of all ages!) by producing one of the holiday season’s signature events. Please join us as we ring in the festive season with bands, floats and activities for families to enjoy.
We are continuing with an evening parade to provide an opportunity to showcase some creativity with lighting to further add to the excitement,” said
Parade Committee Chair Tim Brown. “We’re excited to partner with the City in their celebration,” said Tim. “It means Santa can make a quick stop in Owen Sound and visit some of the kids after the parade.”
This year we are happy to have local celebrity Larisa Yurkiw join the parade. Larisa was born and raised in Owen Sound and is known for her success as an Olympic Skier and a Canadian World Cup alpine ski racer in both downhill and super G. Larisa will help us bring the holiday season to the kids of Owen Sound.
Date: Saturday, November 18th
Time: 5:00 pm
Location: Downtown Owen Sound
Route: The Parade starts at Metro and follows 2nd Avenue East, turns left onto 8th Street East and ends at 3rd Avenue East.
Letters to Santa: Canada Post will be collecting them along the parade route. Don’t miss Santa after the parade at the Owen Sound Farmers Market!
Food Donations: The Salvation Army and City of Owen Sound Fire Department are collecting food donations along the parade route.
