Location: 8th Street East between 2nd & 3rd Avenue
Wheel and Ride takes place Saturday, May 30, 2026, on 8th Street East, on the block
between 2nd and 3rd Aves. The event runs from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Around 50
reconditioned used bicycles along with fitted helmets will be given free to children.
Additionally, donated bikes will be received for next year.
The event is an initiative of Kiwanis, Optimists, Junior Optimists, Scenic City Cycle (who
reconditioned the bikes), Police, EMS, Family Services and others.
Police will be on hand with a bicycle rodeo safety course. Firefighters and EMS will
have vehicles on display. Family services and others will have information booths.
As well as staffing the bike give-a-way, the Kiwanis Club is holding a charity barbecue.
A few club members will be needed that day to assist, including the barbecue. Please
make yourself available that day, if you can.
